Patrick Kileste is one of the current and founding partners of the firm. He holds a Law degree magna cum laude from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and started his activities at the Brussels Bar in 1983.

He is considered one of the leading lawyers in the area of the commercial distribution law (distribution, commercial agency, franchise), including the European law aspects.  He has extensively written since 1985 about distribution case law. He is the author of a book about the application during 50 years of the law of 27 July 1961 related to the unilateral termination of exclusive distribution contracts of indefinite duration.

Regarding the area of the automobile distribution law, he is one of the few lawyers who only advise distributors. He is a member of the EDL (European Distribution Lawyers) network, an international association where lawyers and representatives of professional federations meet together. He is a member of the Fédération Belge de la Franchise and was appointed Chairman of the Collège des Experts in 2011. He is also a member of the Brussels Chamber of Commerce.

He further specializes in corporate law, particularly in the area of solving shareholder’s conflicts.

He is the author of numerous academic publications and frequently speaks in his specialization areas.

He also intervenes as a national or international arbiter and is a member of CEPANI (Centre Belge d’Arbitrage et de Médiation) where he also serves on the Legal Committee.

He is interested in solving conflicts through alternative techniques and has had various training experiences in this area, notably in negotiations and so called non violent communication. This enables him to assist his clients effectively in all kinds of negotiations, including estate conflicts.

He has been trained as a mediator at the Brussels Business Mediation Center (BBMC, now called bMediation) and is a certified mediator in civil and commercial matters. He is a member of the mediation commission of the Brussels Bar.
He also trains young lawyers in these areas.

He is convinced of the important role a lawyer should occupy in raising the consciousness in the human relationships based on a greater respect for individual needs. He was one of the promoters of the study day organized by the Brussels Bar on the subject « Une autre façon d’être avocat » (« Another way of being a lawyer ») and is a member of the Institut de Développement Personnel de l’Avocat.
